Double Olympic showjumping Gold medallist Nick Skelton, OBE, will present the trophy to the 2016 Stobart Champion Flat Jockey alongside sponsor Andrew Tinkler on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday 15th October. Currently Jim Crowley sits 16 winners clear of second placed Silvestre De Sousa, with just four days remaining of the Championship to go. Skelton said: “I was delighted to be asked to make the Stobart Champion Jockey presentation. Jim Crowley will be a thoroughly deserving champion, he’s worked tremendously hard and has been in incredible form, particularly in the last few months. I keep a close eye on the racing world with both my sons heavily involved in jump racing. Ascot is such a wonderful stage and I always enjoy going racing but this year it will be even more special to catch up with some of the other Rio competitors on Champions Day.” Crowley, who is set to receive the Stobart Champion Jockey trophy from the legendary show jumper, has been imperious form this year, riding 144 winners to date since the Championship kicked off on 30th April, including breaking the record for the most winners in a month when bagging 46 during September to break Sir Gordon Richards’ and Fred Archer’s long-standing record of 45. The presentation is due to take place in the Ascot Winners’ Enclosure at 1pm. Skelton, who returned from Rio after winning individual Gold in Show Jumping with his horse Big Star, after the pair had led Great Britain to team glory at London in 2012, will also form part of the Opening Ceremony at QIPCO British Champions Day which is due to take place at 12.35pm. Racegoers will see the medallist parade alongside other Team GB Olympians and Paralympians including the Paralympian Dressage Gold medallist Natasha Baker and George Nash, who won Gold in the Coxless Four rowing. The procession will be led by QIPCO British Champions Day favourite, and former QIPCO Champion Stakes winner, Cirrus Des Aigles and accompanied by a performance from soprano Laura Wright. For tickets to see the Stobart Champion Flat Jockey crowned on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday 15th October go to www.britishchampionsseries.com.

Well what a fabulous but crazy busy weekend we've had! A privilege to perform again for the second year at the The Belbroughton Scarecrow festival... such a fabulous family charity event that raises huge amounts for local charities... was great fun entertaining the crowds at both stages on both days. Huge THANK YOU to Dean, Ian, Rachel, all the organisers and team that work tirelessly to make the festival the fabulous weekend it is... Also great to meet and watch so many talented local performers... So important to us to support other acts and this weekend was packed full of talent!!! Looking forward to seeing you all perform again... A massive thank you as always to all our followers, friends and family that took the time out to come to see us perform and to all the wonderful new people we met and chatted to across the weekend... Final thank you's to the tech and stage team - our Gordon for still being there side of stage even though he had knee surgery 2 days before!!!! The wonderful and Hilarious Craig the compare for keeping us laughing, plugging us shamelessly and generally being a top man... Dan and his tech production team Taylor Theatre Productions (Liam and Lucy) who worked with our own VC Leigh on our sideline business VC Events co-ordinating stage management ensuring a professional smooth running schedule across the two stages...
